Performance & Installation

Ying-Chen Joyce Lin is a Taiwanese media artist and embodied system designer based in the Netherlands. Her practice explores the increasingly inseparable relationship between the human body and contemporary technologies, questioning where the body ends and technological systems begin. Working across biometric data, sound, light and computational systems, she transforms intimate bodily signals — from heartbeats to internal sounds — into responsive audiovisual environments. Rather than treating technology as something external to the body, her work creates systems in which human and machine continuously affect one another, exploring shifting ideas of identity, perception and our relationship to the spaces we inhabit.
